My best friend Edna (in above photo with a baby in her tummy) and I went to a bed and breakfast a few weekend ago for a much needed girl's getaway weekend. We stopped in the few shops they had in this small Missouri town and Jinx's Books store was one of them. We took two steps into the used book store and were totally shocked at the disarray of books.
Edna and I gave each other glances, we were both thinking the same thing... oh my goodness... what the? Books were stacked in every corner with almost no order to them, boxes of books over flowing! Then we went up the book covered stairs and couldn't believe our eyes, there was almost no place to walk, books were all over the floor! It was a bit like walking into a hoarders house.
The small OCD part of me wanted to sit there all day and organized the books, I just did not understand how it could look like that! Jinx, which is a cat, followed us around the store looking to get petted. It's a shame really, it could really be a charming little book store.

What the?... Really Martha
I've always been a fan of Martha Stewart, even when she went to jail. I receive weekly craft idea emails from her website. I got this project idea in my mail box last week.
Really Martha... this is the ugliest thing I have ever seen, did you really approve this project? Would you put this in one of your many homes... I doubt it!
They talk the project up as a magic space saver. I'm sorry but those tacky, chunky gold chains makes this look more bulk that it really is. Maybe if they used a thinner chain? But with the wide abundance of nice floating shelving out in the market, why do we need the chains?
I'm sorry Martha but I really hope your projects step it up a notch or two or you might just lose me.

what the ? - 1980

Sturp pants... I wore these in 7th grade with a neon yellow oversized sweater.

Hammer pants... thank goodness I can say
I never wore or owned these style pants.
But I did LOVE my black parachute pants!
You would think I found these photos google searching the 1980's. But NO... I was browsing through GAP online. These are currently listed items you can buy right now! Sorry GAP I just can't do it, I won't!

What the ? - Aqua Blast Hopscotch
But WOW this one is way off! I could tell by the bad photoshop work that the kids were added into the photo and so was the background. But the kid to product scale is so off! Look at my kids feet in the square compared to the box image. I also noticed there are no measurements of the product anywhere on the package... sneaky.
The girls did have fun playing with it, but they did notice on their own that is was smaller than on the box and the water spray did not go as high. I would advise anyone to avoid products from Banzai or expect it to be half the size you see on the front of the packaging.

What the ? - Booty Pop

I am starting a new blog category called "What the ?" Lately it seems there are so many goofy products out there that make me stop in my tracks or burst out laughing.
I saw this in the Bed Bath and Beyond mailer and was not sure what a Booty Pop is... I have not seen it on TV yet (thank you tivo). I looked it up and as you can see it is basically a padded bra for your butt! Last I heard America is one of the fattest countries in the world, so who is buying this?
I went to the Booty Pop website and watched the video. Brian and I laughed at the ladies wearing these things. It totally does not look natural, the pads are in the wrong place. Do we really need one more thing to falsify our lives?
I just picture a college age girl getting close with her new boyfriend. He grabs her padded booty butt and he is thinking... what the ?
