Make your own miniature potion bottles!

We made these halloween bottles using these items below.

Other items in this halloween scene...

Most of these as you can see you just put the items like the beads or feathers into the jar. For the eyeballs we colored circles on the balls to make the colored part of the eye and the black part of the eye. For the organs we put bits of white and red ribbon and cording into the jar and added the red food coloring. For the dragon scales we flattened a tiny bit of sculptey clay and baked it. Then we cut it up into tiny scale like pieces.

For all of the bottles we made tags or labels out of paper and either taped or glued them on and some we added a bit of thread around the top.

These were so easy and fun to make... Happy Halloween!

Raking the Leaves

This is the life...
Living in Webster Groves for Brian means raking leaves every weekend. Living in Webster Groves for Anna & Amelia means playing and jumping in large piles of leaves every weekend. Luckily Anna & Amelia are into helping with chores and they love to help rake the leaves, although sometime they make a bigger mess... they do have fun. And I guess we should get all the help we can now, because I know someday this will not be the same story!

Note: I did not pose Amelia for the top shot, just caught a good one.

First Camp Out

O.K. So we camped in the backyard, and it was a good trial run for the girls since when it was really time to go to sleep they wanted to sleep inside.
They enjoy cooking the hot dogs and marshmallows over the campfire. I haven't been camping in a long time and I don't remember the camp fire coating my hot dogs with a layer of black soot. I had to wipe off each hot dog before we ate them. Is this normal?
We played around in the tent, told spooky stories and read books.
Oh and you can't forget your laptop when camping, it was fun for the girls playing with this in the dark since it did light up a spooky green.
Amelia & Anna love telling spooky stories, which always crack Brian & I up. The stories usually include a dark night, a full moon and two kids walking in the woods hearing a thump, thump, thump. If Anna is telling the story it usually ends with a nice rainbow monster who makes pancakes for everyone.

One, Two, Three... Slide

A few more St. Louis City museum photos... here the gang is sliding on the skate boarding ramps. They have a great room with all these ramps and pikes, I guess you can bring your board in and go to town. No one was skate boarding so we all started sliding down the ramps, and more & more kids joined in. I figure the girls must have gone up and down this thing about 30 times!
